FOGG Odyssey bio picture

Troy Floyd

I missed the 60's, American, hate cooked green vegetables but love the taste of a cheese and mustard sandwich, been to 20+ countries, once had a 6-figure salary but quit it to be happy.

Goals in life:

* Sail the Amazon River in my own man made boat from Ecuador to Peru

* Hike Norway on the pilgrimage trail from Oslo to the North for 1 month

* Travel the world by car or motorcycle for 2 years

* Expand my photography skills

* ...and buy a winning lottery ticket!

Think that sums me up pretty much!  In all honestly, I'm currently living in Quito, Ecuador.  After working long 12hr days, 7 days a week, chasing the wealth dream I finally decided it was time in my life to do something I'm passionate about, PHOTOGRAPHY and TRAVEL!

I will be adding daily posts and pictures to this site, as this site is merely to display my work and keep people informed of where I'm at and doing.  Sign up for my email feeds to get my posts delivered to your inbox.  It's the best way to keep informed!

Photos: Viejos & Masks in Ecuador For New Years (Part III)

Michael Jackson viejo masks were the most popular this year in Ecuador

More ano viejo masks from Ecuador’s New Years celebration.  So far I have shown you the political leaders, the dummies they have mounted on to the ladyboys who own the streets that night.  These are what I call the fun viejo masks, from the scary, to the famous to the fun ones.  As I have stated before, Michael Jackson was the clear winner this year but there were many others represented.  I personally liked the Hulk viejo mask below as it just made me want to pour gas on it and burn it.  I mean who doesn’t want to kick the crap out of the Hulk?

Still need help with people to fill out my survey about this site.  It takes 2min, I won’t ask for any personal information and you don’t have to register.  So help me out and click below.

It's amazing how different all of these masks are - a really great series, I've enjoyed looked at the varying craftsmanship! I think it's funny that everyone went with Michael, an interesting sign of the pervasiveness of his presence and death. I was in Slovenia when news of his death broke and the local radio/news stations were obsessed; who knew!
  • Thanks Shannon and it was such a surprise to get to see them for New Years. I personally had no clue about what went on in Ecuador for NY but it was one of the best celebrations I have ever been to.

As a photographer it was heaven! lol Are you ready for Cuba yet?

I bet that was just amazing to participate in w/everyone in masks and you
able to capture some great shots! As for me - I am still a bit nervous
about Cuba, but getting excited, my London friend has booked her ticket, so
    it is really happening! :-)
