FOGG Odyssey bio picture

Troy Floyd

I missed the 60's, American, hate cooked green vegetables but love the taste of a cheese and mustard sandwich, been to 20+ countries, once had a 6-figure salary but quit it to be happy.

Goals in life:

* Sail the Amazon River in my own man made boat from Ecuador to Peru

* Hike Norway on the pilgrimage trail from Oslo to the North for 1 month

* Travel the world by car or motorcycle for 2 years

* Expand my photography skills

* ...and buy a winning lottery ticket!

Think that sums me up pretty much!  In all honestly, I'm currently living in Quito, Ecuador.  After working long 12hr days, 7 days a week, chasing the wealth dream I finally decided it was time in my life to do something I'm passionate about, PHOTOGRAPHY and TRAVEL!

I will be adding daily posts and pictures to this site, as this site is merely to display my work and keep people informed of where I'm at and doing.  Sign up for my email feeds to get my posts delivered to your inbox.  It's the best way to keep informed!

Scuba Diving in Phuket

After leaving Krabi I headed to Phuket island.  I took a local bus from Ao Nang to Krabi Town, from there a bus to Phuket Town and after that a taxi to Kata Beach.  The hotel name was Jinta Andaman .  Found my guest house and it was the most stylished guest house I have ever been in.  All modern decor, style and the bathroom was really big.  In all it cost me about $18 per night.

Went and had dinner on the of the side mountain at a terrace restaurant overlooking the bay of Kata Beach.  The place had a Bob Marley theme to it and out front was a Thai “Bob Marley” wannabe saying “Whatz up my maun?  Welcome to da restaurant of peace and love.”  Was a cheap place and had a good meal.  Went back to my room and crashed for the night as I was tired from the night before because of the drinking with the Norwegians.  I had already planned a scuba diving trip before leaving BKK with a lady i have known somewhat for the last 2 years.  She’s an instructor and last time I was in Phuket she helped me find info about dive sites in the area there but I never got to meet up with here.  So I emailed her again and she set up everything.  She booked me on a boat with Dive Asia that was going to Phi Phi Islands for 3 dives.

Met some cool people on the boat that will hopefully send me some underwater photos that they got (I didn’t take any), so I can post them here for you to see what we seen.  It was better diving then the last time I was in Phuket and I got to see a few black tip sharks, sea snakes, rays, sea turtle, eels, lion fish exc exc.  Was nice to dive again since I hadn’t in 8 months and was worth the the money to go.  Thank you Marcia for making it happen!
